Meg is in her final week of corporate life and counting down each painful minute… but lets help her get through it with some incredible reading from a few of our favorite travel writers!
- Meg loves love… and cuddling. So to start off this week, let’s read about traveling as a couple. We have done pretty much everything on this list in our five years together, but I would say that we might have gone overboard on #10… here we come world! Once our trip starts, practicing these language learning techniques for couples will become a priority!
- Congrats to Devon who said goodbye to the cubicle last Wednesday! If you want to join Devon and the many other Vagabonders that have taken the same leap, maybe you just need a little inspiration. Sidenote, great blog name for Devon – Answering Oliver… because Mary Oliver posed the following question and Devon is answering her with her blog: “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
- YTravelBlog always posts some great travel tips, but Craig now focuses on traveling cheaper and deeper in his latest post that covers 32 ways to enhance your travels. #10, packing light, is something we are currently working on as we each plan to only have a 32 liter backpack (carry-on size) or less for our travels… do-able but daunting. Also, congrats to Caz’s sister on getting married! We love love here at LandingStanding! And just as an aside, Caz… yelp is amazing. I don’t know how we ever found restaurants before it!
- The Unspeakable Horror of Chinese Bathrooms. It’s all in the title…
- Adventurous Kate gets naked in public for the sake of an adventure… so the least you can do is buy one of her cool calendars this holiday season! And Kate… what is this mythical bar in Boston where you can get a beer for $1.00? We’re here until January and need some cheap brews STAT!
- While there is still a stigma with traveling to Colombia for safety reasons, Michael not only survived his two months there… he thrived! Just be sure to take the same precautions you would anywhere else on your travels.
- Trains, Planes, or Automobiles… or Tuk Tuk. What is your favorite way to travel?
Thanks so much for the mention guys and the kind comments!! Love Theodora’s post on the Chinese bathrooms
That post on the bathroom scared me straight! I am going to be wayyy over prepared by the time we make it to Asia!!!
That bar would be Coogans (or Coogars as we prefer to call it…not a cougar bar, though!). It’s in the Financial District at the corner of India and Milk Streets. $1 Buds and Bud lights all day, every day.
We should meet up while I’m home! I’ll be around Dec. 12-Jan. 9.
Wow… that is right near one of my old offices. I can’t believe I never went!
There is a Meet, Plan, Go meetup on Dec 12th that we are going to at the Cambridge Brewing Company in Kendall Sq. You might have a lot going on since you’re just getting back… but thought you might be interested.
Otherwise, we’re here until Jan 4th when we officially start our trip in Chile and we’d love to meet up!
Love love looooove that quote from Mary Oliver… one of my all time favs. Great list as always you two!! (although I could have done without the visual of the Chinese bathroom.. just sayin.)
Wan’t that a great quote? Although… i’m a sucker for most inspirational quotes so i’m a little biased.
I am regular reader, how are you everybody? This article
posted at this site is truly good.
