Folks… I’ve almost crossed the finish line. End of the road. Last stop.
My last day of work is tomorrow and as nervous as I am to leave behind the corporate world… I also could not be more excited!
Pretty soon we will not just be writing about how to get ready for a trip, but will actually be on the trip and sharing all of our stories from the road. But until that fast approaching day, get your travel fix from these great articles of the past week:
- Traveling cheap will definitely be a focus for us as we would like to have a few dollars left when we get back. That’s why we are counting on you all to help us figure out where to go and have loved the suggestions so far! Some places that have really intrigued us? Thailand and Costa Rica. Meg also has a coworker from Hamburg who raves that it is a lesser traveled gem in Germany.
- Not on our radar when we first started planning our journey, but quickly rising up our list of top places? Eastern Europe. We have heard it is beautiful, cheap, and relatively safe. Quite a combo!
- We both went to Babson College which specialized in entrepreneurship. So why are we quitting the business world to travel? Caz eloquently expresses what I have come to realize in the last few years: People who yearn to start their own business often seek to travel as well… drawn to adventure, independence, and a chance for greatness! We want both!!!
- We’re driving up the west coast from NorCal right before thanksgiving in order to have a mini US adventure before we leave the states behind… how many of these 11 things to do in Oregon should we try?
- “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” If you take the leap to travel, you have already won. So don’t worry about the haters and cynics and just make yourself happy!
- Have you tried any of these travel gear sites? We’re starting to shop!
- I need to get better at writing headlines… Fail More. Suck Less.
Thank so much for the mention and I can guarantee that the moment your trip actually begins, your level of excitement will reach even new heights!
Safe travels and I hope to read about your interesting adventures, wherever you end up!
Thanks Earl! The anticipation is killing us but we are inching closer to the departure date… we can’t wait to see where we end up either!
I have never been to Oregon except to fly into Portland for a one day meeting and fly home. This is a place I would love to explore. BTW, I did not know Goonies was filmed in Astoria….. you better start here.
Sounds like you need to spend a few extra days in Oregon next time… Portland is supposed to be a fantastic city! Goonies!!!
