It is amazing how time flies – There are roughly 8 months before our great RTW adventure and we need to step up our planning BIG time. Since Tony and I are novices at vagabonding, we need to rely on the more experienced travellers for guidance. With that in mind, here are some helpful articles from our favorite travel bloggers:
- Michaela discusses her preference on the right amount of time on the road. She believes that taking an entire year away from your career to travel the world may be too long. ..What are your thoughts?
- While Chris brings up some great points on why solo travel can be a better overall learning experience, I hope Tony and I can prove him wrong next year!
- Tony and I lived in Boston prior to moving to Miami, so reading Adventurous Kate’s article on what she misses (and more importantly, doesn’t miss) from home made me reminisce about my days in The Bean…And, like Kate, I will NEVER miss a Boston winter!
- Here’s one tip Tony can personally add to the list of travel tips for visiting Amsterdam: Do not eat an ENTIRE space cake…I will let him be the one to share this story later!
- Janice’s go-to conversation starter in a foreign territory is pure genius…Afterall, it did lead her to the epic Chili Cheese Omelet.
- This is just one more reason why Tony and I plan to travel with small backpacks.
- Hmmm…I wonder which wine pairs well with Almond and Cheese flavored Doritos????
- The Blue Mountains in Australia = Amazing! Thanks for sharing Meliha…We will definitely have to add this to the list of places to visit.
- When Tony and I visit Europe, Eastern Europe may be the way to go to help save some cash, as it is less expensive than the Western side of the continent. Krakow, Poland sounds like a unexpected treat!
About Meg
Exhausted from traveling every week as a Business Management Consultant early in my career, I took a year off in 2012 to travel at my own pace. I am a high-energy girl that loves being active, eating food, drinking wine, and exploring the world with my partner-in-crime (and husband), Tony! I now reside in Portland, Oregon and continue to write about travel, food, wine, and the awesome adventures we have in the Pacific NW!
Thanks for the mention guys. By the time you are done I’d love to compare stories about travel. See if my stance on solo travelling does stand up or whether you did prove me wrong.
Sounds like a plan Chris! Our travels will surely test our marriage in so many funny and unexpected ways – no doubt about that!
