This week was quite a busy travel week for our favorite travel bloggers – I had a whopping 100 articles in my Google Reader page this morning! Needless to say, I wasn’t able to get to all of these articles, but here’s a great representation on what happened around the world this week:
- Leif’s story on his experiences with the recent earthquake in Tokyo was frightening, but inspiring at the same time, as it didn’t stop him from travelling the world.
- Hong Kong Airlines’ Kung Fu Flight Attendants = Amazing…At least one company has got it right.
- A Lady in London’s trip to Edinburgh looked incredible…I’m game!
- Craiggers is awesome but it will certainly be more useful when it has gone international!
- A Caribbean Carnival in London…Who would’ve thunk?
- My parents are retiring and moving to Kauai this coming August. I am going to have to forward them this link on all the best places to eat on the island…Thanks Beth!
- Tony and I currently live in Miami, so I really enjoyed Lachlan’s photo essay on our home.
- Once Tony and I are ready to move on from Santiago, San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina might have to be the next destination on the map…Thanks for sharing Daniel.
- A city surrounded by walls might make me claustrophobic, but Lucca in Italy looks too good to pass up!
- I love reading Nomadic Matt’s price breakdowns of his affordable trips…It helps me realize that seemingly expensive destinations (i.e. Sweden) are in fact do-able on a budget.
- This article sums up why Tony and I heavily promote study abroad for any student.
- I am definitely going to need to brush up on my negotiation skills before our RTW adventure!
- Adam’s life on Bamboo Island sounds like my dream scenario.
- It appears as though Adventurous Kate DOMINATED Asia…Way to go Kate!
About Meg
Exhausted from traveling every week as a Business Management Consultant early in my career, I took a year off in 2012 to travel at my own pace. I am a high-energy girl that loves being active, eating food, drinking wine, and exploring the world with my partner-in-crime (and husband), Tony! I now reside in Portland, Oregon and continue to write about travel, food, wine, and the awesome adventures we have in the Pacific NW!
Thanks for including my Lucca post in your weekly travel links post. And congratulations to your parents for their retirement move to Kauai, an island with lots of active adventures for baby boomers (my specialty).
You’re welcome Donna! My parents currently live fairly sedentary lifestyles in cold upstate, NY , so I think Kauai will be perfect for them. I would love to hear any insights you may have on what to do on the island so I can pass the info along to them!
