This past weekend, Tony and I visited my hometown of Ithaca, NY for a friend’s wedding. My parents recently sold my childhood home, as they are retiring and moving to Hawaii in January. As a result, we had to stay with a family friend during our visit to Ithaca. It was incredibly bizarre to be in the town where I grew up and not having a home there anymore. Regardless, I am so proud of my parents for taking a giant leap of faith and moving halfway across the Pacific to live their dream. This past weekend proved to me while it is valuable to have roots, having wings is just as vital in order to really go outside your comfort zone and experience new things and new cultures…
… And our favorite avid travel bloggers understand this importance. Here are the best of the rest:

About Meg
Exhausted from traveling every week as a Business Management Consultant early in my career, I took a year off in 2012 to travel at my own pace. I am a high-energy girl that loves being active, eating food, drinking wine, and exploring the world with my partner-in-crime (and husband), Tony! I now reside in Portland, Oregon and continue to write about travel, food, wine, and the awesome adventures we have in the Pacific NW!
Great round-up. Thanks for including our post from Chilliwack Lake! 😉
You’re welcome! I am going to Toronto for the first time this coming Sunday for work and would love any advice you have on that city if you two have been there at all!
